Safeguarding
At Pencaerau Primary School, the safety and well-being of our pupils is our highest priority. We acknowledge that children have a right to protection and we are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.
Our safeguarding practices align with Welsh Government guidelines and legislation, ensuring the highest standards of care for every pupil.
Our Child Protection Policy applies to the whole of the school's workforce, along with volunteers, governors and any contractors working on the school site - ensuring that all staff (including volunteers) have been appropriately DBS checked for their suitability, using the Safe Recruitment procedures.
All staff have undertaken safeguarding training that equips them to recognise and respond to child welfare concerns.
We work in partnership with outside agencies to safeguard our pupils.
When concerns are sufficient it may ne necessary to refer to Children's Services.
